Les Paul Custom value...?
As well as my
Ibanez guitars
, I also have a
Gibson Les Paul Custom
, 1981 Wine Red. Condition is age appropriate, aged binding etc.
Does anyone have any idea how much it'd go for (in £)? It's not for sale, I'm just curious.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Les Paul Custom value...?
I'd value it at aprox £500 as a lot of the late 70's/early 80's Gibsons were complete tat.
In saying that I havn't seen it or played it so what do I know?

I don't know what that comes to in US dollars, but those LPs are starting to get up there. Just because they have a reputation for being "tat" doesn't mean they all are. Without seeing pictures I'd say you could easily get atleast $1500.

£500 !?!
Seriously, a
Gibson Les Paul
Custom for £500? Hmmm...
I was thinking at LEAST double that, anyone else have an idea?

Re: Les Paul Custom value...?
About £1000 is tops though for me, from what I have found. I am always looking for Gibbo
Les Paul
Customs, and the 80's Gibsons dont go for as much as the early 70's ones. As they have a reputation for rather poor quality. And dont forget that BRAND NEW Les Paul Customs can be found for about £1900. So maybe £1000 - £1100 is the most it would go for.

Re: Les Paul Custom value...?
I'd say £1100-£1200. New Customs are around £1850 if you shop around, and yours is in that "not quite starting to increase in value" period.

It depends on if you are buying or selling!!
A buyer will think its value as low as possible,a seller wil think its as high as possible!!

+1, yeah, depends on how bad you need money and how bad someone wants one. You could obviously get more if you were willing to wait a while. (Maybe quite a while)
