Lime Green PRS?

Im saving up for this PRS, its fairly old and its this kinda lime green colour, with gold tuners. The pickups are black and don't have any writing on them, it has a sweet switch and tremolo bridge.

Ive looked over hundreds of pics of PRS and never once saw a PRS in the same colour as this one. The only one ive seen that is the same is one on a guitar backing track booklet (I think its called stand alone backing tracks).

Is this green (light lime green come to think of it) on a PRS rare?

Re: Lime Green PRS?

Solid colours on PRSs are fairly rare full stop! Probably means she is an all-Mahogany Standard, rather than a Custom (Maple cap on Mahogany) - if it is the model with a sweet switch instead of a tone control it will be quite a valuable guitar! The gold hardware supposedly only came on the "Artist PAckage" PRSs, but back in the sweet switch days PRSs were pretty much custom made - congrats Wallie - you sound like you are about to get your hands on a pretty mighty guitar!

Cheers,

David

Any pics? I really like Tim Mahoney's baby blue PRS, he is 311's guitarist, when I saw them live in 2002, he was playing it.

Im taking my JSX in next week and see what she sounds like through that, so ill try to get some pictures of her
But yeh, im aiming to buy it towards the end of the year for xmas, but im very happy to hear that David

Re: Lime Green PRS?

The photo is a bit dark, but seafoam green is the color. Pretty easy to find on a strat.

Re: Lime Green PRS?

I now know the colour you are talking about, it is in fact very similar to Fender's Seafoam green, but possibly a bit paler and a bit more green than turquoise - I think I saw the guitar you are talking about a few years ago in a little (long gone) music store in Kings Cross called Jason's Music - very unusual on a PRS - the dudes from The Angels (remember tham?) had the first PRSs I ever saw in real life, and they were a Candy Apple Red and Lake Placid Blue pair of Standards - straight Fender colours. Keep quiet about it to your seller, but if you do a bit of a search on PRSs with small heels and sweet switches, they are becoming "vintage" (don't you hate that term!) guitars, and the price is starting to hike!

Cheers,

David
