Line 6 Variax Acoustic

Anyone bought or played one of these yet? If so what did you think of the playability and tones? Was it very piezo-sounding?

From what I hear, it's not going to sound exactly like the guitars it's modelling. It's going to sound like the guitar it's modelling with a mic in front of it. You won't get the sound of a natural acoustic. You will get a decent acoustic sound for recording and a great acoustic sound live. If nothing else, it's the best acoustic/electric sound you'll ever get.

The one concern I'd have with this, and GP mag brought it up, is that when you do the "virtual capo" deal, your amplified volume has to be great enough that you won't hear the natural tone that still is in normal tuning.

I would think that would have the potential to really throw a wrench into that particular feature.

Otherwise, I think it's really cool, and look forward to trying one out.
