Some people may be familiar with the Live Aid / Live 8 concerts, and therefore the logo for the events. Looks like this:
Now I want you to imagine that another one of these concerts is planned and Fender (judging by the headstock) releases this guitar to be used in the concert (of course the neck won't be tied in a figure 8 and there won't be a word running through it).
Now, imagining this guitar now actually exists, what would you guys say?
Pain in the arse to play sitting down, and yeah @ the volume/tone knob thing, and... A FENDER WITH A TOM BRIDGE AND LES PAUL PICKUP SELECTOR? I think not.
But other than that it'd look b.a. to play that on stage.
Knowing Fender, they'll charge $489052309634908573240986734098730967342908672309673904867390467349086340986739086730967039467390867390473409687309867349086734096734096873420986734098673249086734096873490867340967324098673209673240986734290683490867
for a 25 guitar limited edition release. If they charged something reasonable, like less than $1500, then sign me up.
Unless your born in Africa, or really love Africa, or the money goes to donations that fund Africa, why would anyone want to buy it, unless they got a tonne of spare cash and collect weird guitars.
Not for me. To many other guitars on my wish list, before this one ...
CHRIS DIPINTO WAS CONTRACTED TO BUILD 8 GUITARS. THEY LOOKED JUST LIKE THAT. OF COURSE THE NECKS ARE NOT LIKE WHAT YOU SEE ABOVE. THERE'S ONE HANGING IN HIS SHOP. HE IS A GREAT GUY AND BUILDER. AND NO I DON'T GET PAID FOR THIS. CHECK THEM OUT IN PHILLY!
