A cowrker of mine bought a guitar from a so called "friend" a few months back and paid the guy $200 for it. He brought it over to the house last night to play in our jam session, and when he pulled the guitar out of the case, I nearly had a heart attack! And not in a good way, either.
The jerk that sold him the guitar told him it was a
fender strat. Well, it has a Fender Squier II neck, and that is where the decent parts of the guitar ends.
The body looks like some sort of frankenstein type strat that was at one time routed for a
floyd rose. The guy put a piece of black plastic inside the hole and 2 big silver screws in it to cover it. It looks horrible!
The guy also mounted a strat-looking pickguard on the guitar. On the lower horn, the pick guard sticks out over the top of the horn, hitting your hand when you try to access the higher frets.
I can't believe someone would actually sell another person this piece of junk.
I am looking for a used squier body that i can add his neck to, and make a decent guitar for him to learn on. I will also need a loaded pickguard from a squier, and a cheap bridge to go with it. Hell, I guess I need a loaded body ;p
I can't pay a mint for parts, so I will take what I can get. The parts don't have to be in perfect condition, they just need to work ;p
