I know some perfer just maple, I perfer the tone I get from Rosewood on my JEMs. I went to the store with a open mind and played 10 strats highend, & medium end, maple vs rosewood, and in the end I choose this, because of the tone and feel it had; so it might be the body & pickups, but the rosewood neck definetaly adds to its tone too.

I just put it down, played for 3 1/2 hrs since I bought her, but I have to start grilling some chicken.

that's a nice strat. with the ash body, sounds thick. noiseless pickups are tight too.

Now that is a flat out CLASSY looking strat. I love those noiseless pickups too. How does the neck feel? Fat? Medium?

Re: My 1st Strat - Deluxe Players Stratocaster

beautiful ! I started out with a strat copy and almost bought a custom strat in '92 but opted for the Ibanez (give the newcomer a chence eh?)
still gonna buy one once I have added a couple of JEM's to my stable....
I dont have an opinion on the neck other than looks - the maple is better looking on a strat but, if it dont cun the mustard for ya ? whats the point ?

nice guitar !

I love the pickguard. Usually I don't like pickguards that are so fancy, usually just a 1D fits guitars better. But that one adds so much class, like Gilk said earlier. Way to go!!!

The neck is Modern “C” Shape, not as flat as a JEM, but I was able to get use to it better than a SRV model which my brother has, that neck to me feels like a BAT to me.

Sorry on the images, I have to get better lighting, because it looks much better in person, with a nice wood grain.

Yea that pickguard got me too, I seen another with chrome hardware, and it just didnt flow, I think it the gold harware, that help with the pickguard looking a lot better, because of the gold/yellow in it. Also the gold words on the white pickups help too.

Oh, I als wanted to add about the Pushbutton, which is way cool for the tone it gets..

5-Position Blade:
Position 1. Bridge Pickup
Position 2. Bridge and Middle Pickup
Position 3. Middle Pickup
Position 4. Middle and Neck Pickups (Plus Bridge Pickup When Push/Push Switch Is Activated)
Position 5. Neck Pickup (Plus Bridge Pickup When Push/Push Switch Is Activated)
1-Push-Button On/Off Switch: Activates Bridge Pickup in Positions 4 and 5 of Blade Switch

Cool Strat. Very SRV. Looks like the John Mayer model, but with gold hardware.

Sweet lookin' strat I too prefer the feel and sound of a rosewood fretboard. Glad you found one that fit you. In the end thats all that matters.
