My Brand New Custom Fender and Newly Customised Old Fender

Okay so its new guitar time. The white one started life as a 2002 MIM I got cheap off the 'bay. I got a Mighty Mite neck for it, some Fender locking tuners, a Seymour Duncan JB Jnr, Lil 59 and Duckbucker, some graph tech saddles, an electronices upgrade kit that apparently comprises some of the highest quality kit available, and a somewhat special pickguard then shipped the lot of to an extremely capable guy called Derek Halliday who did an excellent job of putting it all together and laquering the neck ( the job he did on that is phenominal). At the same time he put the old MIM maple neck plus a re-fret onto my Dad's Strat, which is tooled up with a set of EMG Dave Gilmours. So, the pictures....

There's a switch between the volume and tone pots that you can see in the pics, and when you switch it you get instant christmas lights. Its just a pickguard with loads of l.e.ds round it bt it looks really cool.

Nice! How do the seymours sound?I have a US Strat and fancy the idea of getting a beefier sound, but I also want to keep the classic 'Strat' sound

Yeah the Seymours are great. The combination I've got there I think is sold as a pack called the 'Everything Strat' set. They have a beefy sound, but not so much so that it detracts from the classic strat sound in the way say a hotter pickup like the Distortion might. The EMG's are better in the red one, and contrary to popular belief they keep the classic strat twang even with the extra output, in my opinion.
