My Guitar Shop Fun - :)

I was feeling down, so I did what any good guitarist would do, headed over to the local guitar store. * *First, I tried the Squire Stagemaster 7-FR again (none of these are plugged in, store people too busy with new stuff coming in) not bad feeling, finally got to play "Glass Prison" properly. * *The bridge was set up ALL WRONG though, as it was tilted WAY BACK and was out of tune. *:bash: *The RG-7620 is still at it's "Sale Price" of $1021 (they say list $1359 or something. *:wow, but didn't bother trying it...I was trying to cheer myself up, not depress myself further. * *Then I checked out a used and heavily modded Les Paul Custom (metallic blue paint job, not a good one, messy around edges, bent pickup rings, EMGs, added switch, don't know what it did). *Man that sucker was heavy (feeling, couldn't plug it in. *lol). *Then a RG-320QS which was ok, but the TRS, etc, was not cool. *I see the difference in baseplate now though. *Man, always cheers me up to check out guitar stuff.

lol *I actually liked the Squire 7-FR, it's got a thinner-ish neck from the other Squires/Fenders that I could tell, H-H config, Floyd-Rose, etc. *I don't like the headstock, and could do without a sparkly purple guitar, but nice anyways. *Any 7-string is great for me, cuz I don't own one yet. *I just loved being able to play "Glass Prison" and turn some heads from people that looked like they're into either punk or Korn. *

Yeah, I'm into Korn, but I'm also into Vai and Dream Theater, etc. *I'm into a LOT of different things (I frequently listen to Dream Theater, Vai, Micheal Jackson, Linkin Park, and Korn in one tracklisting. * ). *Basically, I like Korn, but would love to see what a guest appearance from Vai would do. * *And I like opening the eyes of people who aren't into as much (like JUST Korn or JUST punk, etc.)

I'm trying to avoid testing the RG-7620 through the Rivera. * *After the last weekend, I'd be too depressed to move for a week. *

If I did, y'know, just hypothetical: *Marshall, Hughs&Kettner, or Peavey 5150 4x12?

Don't critisise your self some Squires aren't all lemons. Most older squires have unbelieveable qualities since they were made in the USA with a fair amount of care. And the slim necks are heaven to play on my ex-bandmate had a stagemaster that got stolen. If it was good enough to lift it was definitally good enough to play, Now put that quote in your books, * *Riff

Actually, I own a '97 Squire Affinity Strat (before they started shrinking them and adding the big goofy headstock), and it's not bad. *Especially for the price. *I added a DiMarzio Super Distortion, and it's pretty sweet. *Except the build quality is crap: *crooked neck, slightly off-center (very slightly) pickguard, trem cavity cover has screws in at funny angles, sawdust in paint under pickguard...

Anywho, the Stagemaster 7-FR is actually a pretty nice guitar, I just don't like the look much (just not pointy enough  ) and the one I played was set up HORRIBLY.
