My new baby!
Well I finally got me a
Les Paul
. Being the cheapest man alive, I tried to find a decent used one, and after two “misfires”, I broke down and bought a new standard. I got a good deal, and I had to sell my 87’ 550 to get it, but I am happy in the end.
Zebra Alnico II Pros already ordered!

I don't! Terrible
upper fret access
, heavy, and most of them look slightly boring. No offense to Chris, and congrats on your new axe.

Re: My new baby!
LOL, no worries man. You can't offend me...
I rushed home, took the pic in the case, dyed the
fret board
, restrung it, took another pic, and THEN actually got to play it.
Damn thing has the famous Gibson "rattle"... I am so bummed. I don't know if I can just live with it, or order another one.

Yeah, that's a strange one Olie. But anyway, if Chris digs his new guitar I'm happy for him. It's quite a nice looking LP, actually, but I never was an LP kinda guy, more of a Strat guy.

Re: My new baby!
Don't be bummed, thats a sweet guitar. Give it a chance. Work the setup and play it for a while to get it to settle in. It's brand new, it doesn't even know it's a guitar yet.

Re: My new baby!
damn, I have a cheapo lp copy that doesn't have any rattles. If you give me a hint, I'll make mine rattle and tell people that - while I have a true Gibson - I intentionally rebranded it to be "in" with the other people in the world who can't afford real Gibsons.

Gibson drills weight relieve holes in the mahogany before gluing down the maple top, but if you do not blow out all the chips, they rattle around inside the guitar.

I still have my four strats, and my three Ibanez. I did have to sell my 87 550 to get this though.
