Nice! Those Classic 50's Strats are one of the best deals going I think. So how does the neck feel?

That guitar is exactly like the one I saw when I was 9 years old, the guitar that got me hooked on guitars in the first place. I was so in love!

Re: My new Fender Stratocaster, pics inside!

Thank you so much guys!

I really love her, she looks great and that sunburst finish looks actually better than I thought it would look. I was afraid at first it would look more brownish but it turned out to be more yellowish and I'm really happy with it. I think the second pic shows best how it looks when sun is shining to it, it looks nearly yellow. Of course it depends on lighting, you know dark or light.

Kamikaze: I will hold on to her. This is the one I'm going to keep for a long time.

Rotti: The neck is a soft-V and it feels quite comfortable. I believe it's thicker than classic 60's Strat C-neck but C-neck feels fuller and wider than this. So it's thin from the sides and thick from the middle, feels nice to my hand. Some big C-necks are nice but usually they feel clumsier and this soft-V is much nicer to play in general.

Looking cool. I'm really tempted to buy one, as they're not expensive, but look good (i'm a big fan of floyd/gilmour!).

Can I ask something to you, and other strat players: to the trem arms wobble inside the hole? I ask this as my squier does this, and getting and vibrato out of it is like uh ah uH HH [squeak]. I hope they're not meant to do this.

Yes it wobbles in my guitar but only if I don't keep it tight, so tighter you screw the trem arm less it wobbles. I keep it rather tight so it doesn't wobble that much at all but the trem arm is still easy to use and it's not too stiff.

Beautiful Strat. I have a Mexican made white with maple fretboard and I love it. I think every guitarist should have a Strat in their collection. Congrats!

They sort of all do - the standard solution is a little bit of plumber's tape wrapped around the threads - a company called Callahams Guitars has a really nice fix for this - and apparently their trem blocks are the beez neez:

cheers

It's funny you mention that. I have been looking very seriously at the Black 70's reissue, with a maple board. I have wanted one of them since the 80's, because it's a replica of the guitar Gilmour played in the Live at Pompeii movie. Surpringly, he still owns that very guitar, but it has a black pickguard and and a different neck on it.

Sorry guys. Not trying to hijack the thread.
