my new years list

Hi, i an new to this forum and thought i would start with this!

i am looking at getting two ibanez guitars in the new year. a S470 and a EDR170. i want the S470 to be a kind of satriani/vai type of lead guitar, as a hear the ZR trem is very good, with a norton in the bridge and a paf pro in the neck. and the edr as type of rock guitar. Any other suggestions to what i could get?

O and on another note, i have a rg570 (2002) in mint condition nothing wrong with it at all, any idea how much i could sell it for. (i live in the uk)

Don't sell an RG570!!! I have tried the S series guitars a few times but they've all played differently. So I guess you need to buy one from a shop. Personally I wouldn't bother with the EDR but its up tro you.

My first Ibanez (I still have it) was a S540 Sabre (one of the earlier models). I love it, I just don't like where Ibanez has taken the S series. I could well be mistaken, but I think the 470 is Korean made. It's a nice guitar, but if I had my druthers I'd try to pick up one of the Japan-made models. Either way, l think it'll do what you want it to do.

To go with the previous two posts: Your RG570 is hands down a better guitar than the 2 that you are considering, although the new S470 isn't too shabby! I here good stories about it, but still I'd go for a S5xx-series. I don't think you'll be disappointed, bit if you're used to a RG570 there is a slight possibility that will happen.

If your stuck on selling the RG, I've got an indication: Here in Holland RG570s usually do about E500.

Like the others said don't sell a great guitar to get one good and one that's just a budget instrument.

You can get around £350 for the 570 if you include good pics and an informative description.

Yeah same as the others.
In the UK RG550's and RG570's go for about £300 - £350 regularly on the good ole auction site
But only if they have a good HONEST description and very good pics. Some people just wont pay that much. But you should be alright and get that £350 for it.

But as I said, all the RG5xx series I have bought have been under £300. You just gotta get lucky.
Good Luck!
