neck finish

how were the ibanez necks finished? what do they use, i like the way my ibanez necks feel, not just size and shape but the way they were finished.

I need to sand out some defects in the finish of a guitar i just bought, and i might need to refinish it. Just need to know how.

thanks

Re: neck finish

poly on 90% of them

couple had other finishes. But most is just a poly satin coat.

If you think thats good you should feel how a neck feels with tru-oil on it

Re: neck finish

tru-oil is a blend of different oils that when applied on a raw neck will give it a hard protection but plays fast as can be very smooth and slick.

Tru-Oil is used in a lot of gun restoration but somewhere down the line it became a secret in the guitar world.

Its easy to apply, its safe, and its just the best finish out there in my eyes for necks. The only key is the neck needs to be sanded 100% down to the wood.

I use it on all my relic necks I do.
