Neck moving on Rg1550

I just dropped my rg1550 on the side of its head, it knocked it out of tune and seems to have started up a problem i had with it last year when the neck would move, bit like a three bolt strat.
Anyone else have this problem.

Re: Neck moving on Rg1150

I had that problem with a 70's strat I used to own. The neck pocket was oversized and it would shift Up and down while in playing postion. I jammed a "hard" thickness pick inbetween the neck and body on the "bottom" side. It stopped the neck shifting all together. If your neck pocket isnt oversized, it could be that the drop somehow enlarged the screw holes on the neck. Have you taken it apart and had a look?

Yeah, i did an old trick my dad taught me, broke a matchstick or 2 in the wholes to fill them out (or in?). Seemed to work, neck pocket looks perfect, guess ill have to try some shims in it.

Re: Neck moving on Rg1150

Yup, the old wooden matchstick or toothpick trick always comes in handy. It gives the screw something to grab onto. I have used that trick a few times myself. Ya, shims wont be needed if the neck fits tight in the neck pocket. "Bottom" side might have been a bit misleading. What I meant by bottom was the BASS side of the strings like nightfiend14 states in his post below this one. Thanks for simplifying it for me nightfiend14! I couldnt explain myself for some reason....without creating this confusing post that I have now edited. LOL
