I know you said no Fender, but I swear to God, the
Fender Telecaster 12-string is SWEET! *You want an example, I've got a couple MP3s of one in use in a live situation run through a Matchless Cheiftan stack. *It's a sweet tone. *Otherwise, the Rick's good of course, and the Danelectro's (I've seen a double-neck used, very nice) also good. *They all have very different tones though. *I've heard them all run through the same amp (Matchless Cheiftan) by Jeff Martin of The Tea Party. *If you want something different, there's always the
Epiphone Les Paul Classic 12-string. *But definitely, the Danelectro's something to look into. *When I saw the double-neck used, it was very overdriven. *It sounded great and stayed in tune. *I'm not sure about the prices on any of these though, sorry.
