Need guitar advice please
so I'm heading off to university next year and I'll need to bring a guitar with me. the problem is, I don't want to take my ESP
Dave Mustaine
DV8-R because it's too big and I don't want to take my Ibanez JS1200 because it's too precious and I would kill myself if it got damaged somehow or stolen. So I need to buy a new guitar and right now I have around $850 canadian in my bank account. the most I want to spend is $800. I also have to get a job to earn some money for beer/etc.
so could somebody give me some suggestions on what I should buy? It could be an Ibanez or any other brand, I'm not sure what I want yet. Is there a good quality RG for around that price? help appreciated.

Do you want a floyd
equipped guitar
? If yes, the above is the best choice. You can get one for a bit more than half your budget. If you want a hardtail, there are more options...
(Which Canadian uni will you be studying at, if I may ask?)

Re: Need guitar advice please
I almost got a hot pink Rg550 which would of been awesome and also would have been a chick magnet
but some terd out-bid me. I don't mind getting a floyd equipped guitar, although I think a string-thru would be easier.
and I'll be studying at Queens for Arts-History.

Re: Need guitar advice please
You won't do better than a
Carvin Bolt
kit. Assemble it yourself, get their tough black finish on the body, and you got the best stratty guitar $400 will buy.

[OT]Nice - it's a good school. I graduated from McGill myself, so out of rivalry I shouldn't be saying that, but it's a good choice...[/OT]

Ibanez RG220, from Guitar Center. I think mine cost me $235.00, and I love it.

Re: Need guitar advice please
Im in Nova Scotia and I have an RG 560. It has the Wizard neck and
edge trem
but its S/S/H. You could always install a single coil sized humbucker in the neck. Plus its rear routed
.
