Need help pricing a Gibson

So my brother in law is expecting a baby and he wants to get rid of a few things for some extra cash. He has a 93' Gibson SG I (I think SG I, the one with only a bridge pu, I don't know I'm not much of a Gibson guy).

Anyway it's in players condition, lots of buckle rash on the back and the normal tiny dings and whatnot from being a main guitar for everyday use. I don't know what to tell him to ask for it, maybe $300-$400 range? Any help would be very appreciated!

Try the bay to see what they have gone for. I'd bet he could get $600-$800
but if he;s dead set on $300-$400 I may be interested.

The only reason I'm guessing around $400 is the buckle rash is significant, I mean it's a true player. I'll post some pics to show the major issues later today.

Regardless of cosmetics it's probably still 800 ish. Unless there is some structural damage.

Re: Need help pricing a Gibson

All things considered i'd ask $600 on c's'list or the bay and fish for offers below that that seem reasonable. I've seen some rough ones go for $400 and really minty one's for up to $675 in consignment stores etc.

Sg fans like them and they aren't as plentiful as they used to be.

I'd do all the normal adjustments for wear,economy,etc.etc.etc.etc.etc...

Best of luck.

Thanks a lot for the info guys, like I said I pretty much never deal with Gibson's so please excuse the ignorance.

Also no there is no structural damage, I'll still post some pics later to show it's general condition.
