Need purchasing advise

Hi there

Maybe the pro's or current owners can give me some advise. I am in the middle of picking out a new guitar.

I would like to have one for the harder tunes (metal), fixed bridge.

Looking at tye Schecter C Series (maybe the Hellraiser)
or at the ESP LTD Deluxe EC-1000

Price range is almost equal in the $700-$800 range

Anyone owns any of these, has palyed them or any other advise, pros and cons would be greatly apreciated.

EC1000s are nice. you get a choice of pups and colors - i would go for the sunburst w/ JB/'59 pus but i'm not an EMG kinda guy. i liked the neck on the EC1000 as well.
the Schecters are kinda nice but the neck profile felt different - a little too rounded for my taste but i'm sure i would get very comfortable after some time with it. i cosider the black version w/ a OFR trem.
you need to decide if you want a strat or les paul shape and style. that might help make your decision.
i thought the C-1 guitars were around $550?

Yeah, the schecter necks are pretty big, baseball bat sort of necks. If you're used to Ibanez, you may have issues. Don't get all hung up on the "metal" brands, anything with humbucker is going to be a candidate. Heck for your budget you could get 2 carvin bolt kits and load them with any pups you wanted.
