New axe!
Well, it's been three weeks (damn customs), but I've finally got my hands on an Edwards E-HR-135FM. I was wondering whether I'd hate the gloss neck and would need to sand it down, but the neck feels so much better than my satin finished Cort G250. Here are the specs for this baby:
Body: Flamed Maple Top / Ash Back
Neck: Hard Maple / Walnut, 9P
Fingerboard: Ebony, 24Frets
Scale: 648mm
Nut: Lock Nut
Neck Joint: Neck-thru-body
Bridge : Floyd Rose
Pickup: Front -
Seymour Duncan
APH-1n
Rear - Seymour Duncan TB-5
Controls: Master Volume, Master Volume,
Mini toggle
SW,
Original Coil Sprit SW
Enjoy the low quality pics courtesy of yours truly:

I like it. Is that an OFR? Regardless it is really good looking.

Very nice guitar, I have seen them around a few times and always liked the look of them.

Yep, it's an OFR. My first, and most definately not the last. So far so good, though I expect to encounter some nasty problems in the near future.

Re: New axe!
I'm amazed how they can make such good guitars at the prices they charge. What you get is crazy for the money; ebony boards, SD pickups, real Floyd, ash bodies with flamed or quilted maple caps, binding,
reverse headstocks
, carved tops, nice design, 27 frets on some models, not to mention the scalloped board on the
Kiko Loureiro
model, 9-piece necks, etc., etc. I love Edwards and if I had the money I'd import a couple of them, cause even with the shipping it works out really cheap. I also read somewhere that the quality is as good as Ibanez Prestige.

Having played a few Prestiges in my local store, I can easily say that the quality is just as good, if not better. I got it for under $700USD, which is the price of an RGT42 here. So it's used, but what's a few barely noticable belt buckle rashes, eh?

Thanks. The tone, as you can expect, is a little bit on the bright side. I love to play funk and country on the clean setting, and straight out rock and metal with overdrive/distortion.

That wikipedia entry is a little misinformative. Edwards model guitars are made in Japan by the ESP PRODUCTION factory. All *ESP* branded guitars in Japan come from the ESP
custom shop
factory and are all made to order.
Nice guitar, I'm still tempted to buy myself some Edwards model guitars, but I'm still testing the waters with
Caparison guitars
again.

Re: New axe!
Nice... how are you enjoying that coil spRit?
I love the look of neckthroughs... that should read "ash wings", not really "back"...
