New build Sabre style

Hi all, time for another budget build, always fancied a sabre so it was time to get the power tools out. Fleabay 25 quid alder strat body, 30 quid RG style 24 fret reverse neck, 15 quid trem, no volume, no tone just a killswitch..

Roughcut

No clear yet, just wanted to see what it looked like together - fluro

Nice, very nice. 30 quid for a reverse headstock neck? thats what I call a bargain.

Re: New build Sabre style

Cheers guys, cleared it yesterday. I think I really need a nasty neon green pickup in it. Trouble is not much about in the UK, found some on the US bay, one shop that stocks thousands of pickups but can't sell Dimarzios to the UK only Duncans due to restrictions. Plus the exchange rate is so good at the moment could finally get some pickups for a decent price 40 quid instead of 80 we usually pay. Any suggestions?

Re: New build Sabre style

nice what about staining the fretboard black? it would make more sense by matching the black on the body, and it's very cheap and easy to do.

Re: New build Sabre style

Thats funny, I bought 2 of these necks & used this one because I liked the obvious rosewood, the other was a very dark & uniform colour. I'll use that for the next build. Any suggestions on green pickups?

Very nice work.. The only thing i'm confused about is, you listed the body as an Alder Fender Strat body, but that looks very Ibanez, did you do all the work to make it look like that?
