Re: New Family Pics

The Custom is very reminiscent of the LP on the cover if Zappa's Shut Up And Play Yer Guitar...

Re: New Family Pics

The main reason I put the pickgaird on was because I noticed the similarity to his. I was considering putting on a brass nut and the same tuners and knobs as his, but decided not to. His has the same pickguard as mine though

Weird... Somehow I didn't register that yours had the same pickguard on - I thought yours was pickguardless! God knows why - it really obviously isn't...

Anyway, lovely to have something so reminiscent of such a gorgeous guitar!

How's that Tele play? I've been wanting one for a long time. My dad had a 1968 Pink Paisley Tele, but he sold it a while ago.

Re: New Family Pics

The tele is awesome, it's a Light Ash Tele. I was supprised to see it's Korean. The stock pickups are Duncan Alnico Pros, they sound ok, but I may through some Fender Tele pick ups in. The only thing I changed was I replaced the switch, pots, cap, wires and jack with an RS Kit, and I changed the knobs to some that looked more 70s. The stock tone control was useless and figured it would be a good chance to see what premium components would add. There was definately a night and day difference, though I'm not entirely convinced the same results could have been had cheaper by not going with the RS Kit, and just getting the parts myself. The neck is very nice, it almost has a Wolfgang feel.

Maybe not died, but aparently over exposure to teles isn't good for you.

I know I won't be taking that ^^ risk.

That's where you are wrong, Keith Richards died 30 years ago, it's apparent in that picture that the pole that holds his head up is broken.
