New Gibson Project

http://community.webshots.com/album/184456433nzNPre

Well this little bugger has been sitting over at my dad's shop for sometime collecting dust. It is a early 70's gibson marauder. The meathead who had it before me put a bill lawrence in the mid spot on a bezel that is grazing the strings. He also put a three way switch in it. Also, the frets are shot. So here is my plans for it.

1.New pickguard made by my guitar tech.

2.A Bill Lawrence pickup is a hard thing to waste so i am switching it to the bridge position and puting the two soapbars in the neck and mid.

3.Remove the three way and leave the factory rotary switch.

4.6100 Fretwire installed.

It is gonna take some work but when it comes out it should be one hell of a player. Any opinions?

Just to clarify a bit for you - your guitar is a model S-1. Three single coil Bill Lawrence pickups, all mounted parallel to each other. Here's a pic of what your's probably looked like before the bastardization took place:

Here's a Marauder - Bill Lawrence humbucker in the neck and a slanted BL single coil in the bridge position:
