It's a tilted neck pickup, it's tilted much the same way a strats bridge pickup is. A lot of custom guitars have that. Kiko Loureiro has a neck pickup like that*

I think there is a bit of an optical illusion going on from that pick because of the shape of the fretboard where the neck PUP is. and the way a route for a single coil is a bit curved in the back.

I like the design of it. Looks remind me of an early holdsworth guitar...but I could also see it in a jazz standard setting, very nice!
