New Guitar Day

Gibson Guitar of the Week 61 RI SG. I really missed my 61 RI after I sold it, and I had my eyes on this since I saw it about 2 months after I bought my first 61 RI.

The store has one more left that I'd like to go back and get. My plans for this one originally were to get it refinished white and get an ebony board with block inlays and the split diamond inlay on the headstock. Gibson doesnt make a SG Custom without 3 pickups so I planned to make this one. I need to call my guy and get a price then decide if I should ruin a GoTW by doing that, or buy the other black one eventually and do it to that.

Basically it would look like this without the middle pickup and trem.

This was on lay away for a while, I was going to get this and the Explorer. I decided to save the money after I found out Gibson discontinued the Explorer in every color except black.

Re: New Guitar Day

good choice

i got a 61 earlier this year after never liking the SG shape. if i could keep only one of my guitars it would probably be it. both in tone and feel it has quickly become my favorite. I am almost tempted to say the 61 is one of the finest guitars ever made.

of course way overpriced and horrible quality though

if you ever sell it, let me know i'll take her off you.

That's gonna look sweet when you're done with it.

That is what we tell our wives but we know better. The "List" is always in revision.
