New guitar day for Eggy!

Today is the best kind of day, it's new guitar day.

She arrived at lunchtime and I've just given her an hours workout.

She's a made in USA Washburn KC model from the early 90's. The trem is a lic floyd original and it flutters like a dream. She came in a hard case and once she's set up propperly I'll think about trying her out live.

Here's photo of the Eggleston branch of the Superstrat family.

Left to right ---Jackson Dinky, Ibanez Jem, Washburn KC

After seeing the new 07 Ibanez range I have a feeling that the Superstrat branch of my family will grow

Thats an understatement, as I said earlier, 2007 = a bad year on the wallet!

And yes, "new guitar day" is the best kind of day there is. I think I even prefer it to my birthday. Unless I get a new guitar on my birthday that is, and then its the best of both worlds!

When can we expect the compulsory Eggy guitar video?

I'll more than likely make another daft video to let you guys hear what she sounds like. I've got a LOT of work to do with the set up though. The previous owner/owners have shimmed the neck (I hate it when people do that !) and the intonation is a mile out. So these will have to be done first.

I realy like that RG370DX that they've released in Blue haze. I think blue Dimarzios and a blue headtock logo would be great mods to make a cool looking guitar.

The two single coils are along the same sort of lines as HS3s . The bride humbecker has at some point in it's life been replaced with a Mightymite one. It's pretty hot. Tonaly wise it's similar to a Seymour Duncan JB. I'll be keeping the stack pickups as I'm happs with the tone of them.

It took a little while but I've got her fully set up now. Had to step a gauge up to 10's so the truss rod, the trem and the trem tension were to adjust from the outset. Also I desperatly needed to get the neck off, dress the frets and give it a clean. I took the covers off the two single coils too as they look cooler without them.
1 bottle of red and one fat reefer later she's set up and playing like a dream.

Stupid video to follow.
