i have wanted an alder bodied HSS floyd equiped Strat style guitar for awhile and finally picked this up last week for way less than half of list ($2700 list). i got a great deal that i just couldn't pass up. Washburn USA do good work and put some nice features on this model:

alder body
Stephens Extended Cutaway
22 XL frets
Birds-eye maple fretboard and neck
aluminum anodized pickguard
Schaller Floyd (very nice)
Bill Lawrence BL500 bridge pup (not a Bill and Becky but smooth and tastey)
x2 SD singles in mid and neck
one tone knob (tappable for bridge pup)
one volume
5 way switch
reverse headstock
Buzz Feiten equiped (wow - sounds more intune than anything i've EVER played)

here's some pics i've found that are probably better than the ones i'm going to take but my guitar is identical except for the case - mine is the silver flight case they offer. i'll post more details when i have time and add my own pics. i actually like the color and can't wait to play it this weekend at my shows. happy, happy , joy, joy!

thanks. it feels like a nice glove and is soooo comfortable to play for me especially with the unfinished neck.

i'm starting to find that out the hard way about the Buzz system. every other guitar i own isn't even close. i'm very impressed but still have no clue as to what the system does to make it so perfect? i'll have to post in the tech section and do some more research on the web about it.

Your right, I don't understand the black art of Feiten but it works. My Suhr is so much more in tune than non Feiten guitars its unreal.

Washburns are awesome!
I have a Washburn X50 Pro with EMG's, and it sounds huge. The quality of their guitars is amazing, some of the best I have tried.

I tell you what, this guitar is truly a instrument of innovation. From the Stevens Extended Cutaway, the Buzz Feiten tuning system, to the name brand pickups and Schaller bridge it truly has every aspect as far as tone and playability covered (not to mention the use of quality woods). I bet it plays fantastic and all i can say is.......congrats!

aside the ugly unecessary pickyguard, anything on this guitar is superb and perfect! Woods, pickup config, OFR, Extended Cutaway...
The unfinished birdseye maple seems just like on the EB/MM and it's really awesome!
