Hey, I just scored a used Dean Hardtail Standard in black. Set neck, mahogany body and neck, tune-o-matic bridge, 22 jumbo frets,
rosewood fingerboard. The previous owner installed black
Sperzel locking tuners, and an EMG 81 and 85. I switched those god awful knobs with some black speed knobs, and put the EMG 85 in the bridge, and the EMG 81 in the neck.
It's my first EMG equipped guitar, and I can honestly say that they will most likely stay in here, if not move to another guitar. The EMG 85 in the bridge is tight, agressive, and punchy. The 81 in the neck is smooth and warm as a neck pickup, not muddy at all. Great cleans with the 81 or both combined.
Nice chunky neck shape, somewhere in between a Gibson LP 60's slim taper and a 59 rounded neck. Great fretwork, frets perfectly leveled and crowned. Plays incredibly well. I was extremely suprised at the quality of this Korean guitar. Anyway, here are the pictures.
