New guitars day

Bought one used off a forum member here and another from MF.

They play nice. I do wish the neck was a bit thinner. I'm sure I'd prefer the 60 style neck as I would say this is the fattest neck of any guitar I own. Sound decent. I really like the pickups.

The only issue, and maybe it's a setup thing but it's the same with both guitars, is pinch harmonics on the low E string do not come naturally to this guitar. My other guitars I can play anywhere on the strings and it is really smooth at doing pinch harmonics. With these BFG's, it really needs to be coaxed from the guitar and as I said, it's both guitars. I had the same problem with a Schecter Tempest I used to own and I never could resolve it on that guitar. If anyone has any ideas on how to resolve that, please, let me know.

I've switched to the dark side. I have about 10 Les Paul style guitars in addition to a few RG's, a JEM and a few other strat styles, etc. I mostly play the LP's. I haven't taken the JEM/RG's out in months.

I've been thinking about trading in my LP Studio on a BFG. It's not a pretty guitar, but it's .... fascinating. Pinch harmonics aside, how are they?

Those don't appear to be the stock pups?

Yeah, those are the stock pickups.

Pinch harmonics are hard to coax out of the low E. Could be that the action is a bit too low or the strings though. Haven't had a chance to set them up yet. It's just odd because every other guitar I own, even with a bad setup (for the most part) just wails on pinch harmonics. The only other guitar I've had that problem with was a Schecter Tempest I used to own.
