New Martin - I'm such a sucker for these.....

I've been looking for another good acoustic and the other day stopped into a GC and was checking out the higher-end acoustic room when I stumbled across a Martin OMC Aura.

This is a single-cutaway Auditorium size guitar based on the D-16 model. This model is really tricked-out with abalone rosette and body binding, style-41 hex abalone inlays in the ebony board, bridge and abalone logo on the headstock. It also has a really amazing Fishman modeling system that uses samples of different high-end microphones positioned close and farther away and you can mix those with the regular pickups for tremendous combinations.

I had to take it home- it was THAT good! Pics to follow after the weekend, but I wanted to share my excitement right away. Anyone have one of these?????

Sounds real cool. Can't wait for the pictures ;-)

Was playing a friends Martin last night - sorry, no idea of the model - seemed to have aged really well and gave a totally different sound to a newer one he had. Lots of character in the sound though. I've got my eye on a Cole Clark FL2 not far from where i live... Then again, probably just got gas as usual!!!
