Re: New MIJ option: LTD Elite

example from our local price ( actual price, not price list) :
ESP 'Standard Series' M-II CTM +/- USD 1700
Ibanez RG 3250MZ +/- USD 1500
Ibanez J custom RG 8570Z +/- USD 3300

I'd choose ESP standard series over any prestige based on that prices.

Re: New MIJ option: LTD Elite

What makes you all think that ESP is competing with Ibanez? I would guess that they're trying to beat Schecter. After all, what would you compare an LTD to 9 times out of 10? Schecter. A $900 Schecter is about the same as a $600 LTD. Which is good, except that people assume the Schecter is a better guitar because it's more expensive. So now LTD is making a better guitar in the same price range.

These feel like a "See, we can make LTD's better than the Blackjacks!" product to me.

Isn't Schecter owned by ESP?

Not sure. Not from anything I've heard.

Though now that I think about it, I wouldn't doubt it.

The little bit I did find says that the same person owns Schecter and ESP, but they remain separate entities, like Fender and Jackson.
