Thanks for that summary, you just saved me an hour

Nice idea for the guitar but not to my tastes.

Whats struck me as funniest were the people complaining this one (thats 3 different woods) was much more like his old Ibanez than the previous one... just based on the thinner lower horn

Now, the old one that was basswood with the (pretty much) SS/AN combo, that was hella different

Not a big fan of the pickup rings and the binding, the shape and the burst are nice though...

Love the idea of a mahogany neck; I think they're great. Every neck out there is maple so this is a nice touch to further set it apart. I have a tung oiled mahogany neck on my 727 and it just fantastic.

The finish on EBMM necks isn't bad though, my Bongo bass is also a great player and it's easy to go to it from anything else and not get the stickiness sometimes associated with finished necks. It's more of a satin finish.

It's getting a bit to PRSsy for me. If I want that type of guitar I'd just buy a PRS. As a matter of fact, I have!

And sold it to buy a Prestige.

You probably didn't. Aren't you confusing the Score guitar with the new prototype? I read several G3 reviews saying that he played the new protoype and not the Score guitar.

The new prototype has a mahogany neck and slightly different body shape with a forearm contour rather than the arm scoop.

The Score prototype has a maple neck and the traditional Petrucci shape.

I love the new horn, it makes it look a lot less chunky. But why would you change the best body contour ever? If they bring that back, I'll definitley buy it.

You're forgetting about the "secret" mahogany tone block as well.

I think that it's going to turn out to be a pretty bad ass guitar once EB finalizes everything.

That was assumed as the spec was common to both axes.

No matter how different it is from the prototypes or original JP, it will still rule.
