New Strat Day

Well a week or so ago I was hit with a case of Strat GAS that I could not fight. Didn't have a ton of money to buy one so I figured I would give a Mexi a shot after hearing good things from owners and also learning that Fender made some worthwhile hardware upgrades this year. So today I recieve it and am very happy. The fit and finish is pretty much perfect. Fret work is good and it plays like a dream. I have heard you can get good ones and bad ones, so I must have gotten a good one. It came straight out of the box in tune and perfectly setup. Didn't make a single adjustment. It even sounds pretty nice with the stock pickups. I like having something that encourages me to play stuff other than metal. Should have bought one of these a while ago.

Oh you want pics you say??????????????

Okay.......

So far. Haven't gone crazy on it though. It will be getting graphtech, nut and saddles and some schaller locking tuners soon though. So I really don't care. Not that I intend to go all Vai on the thing anyway

Re: New Strat Day

That is EXACTLY the Strat I want. White with white PG and maple neck. I keep seeing them in Sam Ash and it sickens me I don't have one.

Re: New Strat Day

very nice!
I love how the strat has a way of telling you how it wants to be played - like I can play what I like on an Ibanez, but plug in a strat and I'm all jazz and funky-chicca-wicca stuff

Re: New Strat Day

For some reason I always picture the ideal strat with a white (cream) body and maple board.

Let us know how those new and improved parts work out, because there may be a possibility I might pick one up!

Re: New Strat Day

Looks great and as far from metal as you can get...except for maybe a ukelele. Congrats on the NGD.

Re: New Strat Day

How do you like it? I've got a guy that wants to sell me a Fender American strat for $500. Has a lot of dings and body damage, but it plays pretty good.

Just can't decide if I want to spend $500 on a strat when I've been saving for a custom radius/JS.
