I dig it. Within the next week or so I will have a nice strat to go along with my RGT220A.

It's an American Deluxe model, with the S1 switching system.

Re: New Stratoblaster
I see it has the roller nut. What is your impression of it so far? I'm really dying to get a strat, but I really need a functional trem and the roller nut equiped strats seem to be the only viable option.
I just took a quick look and I can't seem to find a model with S/S/S and the roller outside of the
Jeff Beck
signature.

I had the Jeff Beck model before i got this one. The neck on the Beck model is slightly thicker than this. If you're used to Wizard necks, the Beck strat will feel like a baseball bat. It is pretty comfy though, just thick.
As for the trem with roller nut, if you're looking to do outrageous squeals, dive-bombs, and heavy abuse with the bar, it won't hold up like a Floyd or Edge.
For basic moderate use of the bar it works just fine, and stays in tune slightly better than your regular bone or
graphite nut
.
As for any tonal qualities with the roller nut, i don't notice anything one way or the other, but i'm not that picky.

Re: New Stratoblaster
Nice guitar!! I have a 2000 American Deluxe that after 7 years, is still one of my favorite guitars. I fitted mine with a Fishman Powerbridge and swapped the noiseless pups for some G&L legacy pups (the noiseless pups seemed to totally kills the glassy highs I was looking for). I've been looking for another American Deluxe or the previous high-end
Strat Plus
models to customize with two humbuckers and a single in the middle... I always laugh when I see people proclaim themselves to be "Fender Free" like its some kind of disease (see some of the other guitar boards).

Re: New Stratoblaster
Very nice. I love my Deluxe QMT, but that's a stunning finish.
My local has a couple of
custom shop
flatheads, one a single HB, the other a pair of EMGs. Not cheap, but not way OTT either, both are second hand and both are in fantastic condition.
Confession: I want one. Dilemma: like the missis and new shoes, I'm only allowed to but a new guitar now if an older one goes. I don't want to get rid of any of my current batch.
Open challenge to Jemsite members: how does one get a new Strat into a very small townhouse without it ever being noticed?

Smash all the windows. When the missus is distracted by the horror of all the windows being smashed, sneak the guitar in.
When she does eventually notice it, just say it was there all the time and immediately start talking about the smashed windows.

Re: New Stratoblaster
Roofies man, roofies!
OR make her an offer she can't refuse.
OR Have someone bring it while you dazzle her with some shoes. That should cover her attention
OR my personal favorite, have a hit placed on her
. You might inherit some stuff too and then you can get more guitars!
Il apologize in advance if you find my suggestions to be of poor taste.
Your best bet would be to explain that guitars, unlike shoes, don't wear out so quick and can't be easily replaced. It's every guitarists goal to make his pilgrimage through the tone valley and he's gonna need to try and have everything he can to find the holy grail of tones. Such as it is a woman's goal to find one poor bastard to suck him of all his blood, youth, hair and baby gravy.
