New Tele

Well last week I got a new MIM Tele. Was very pleased as soon as I pulled it out of the box because the first thing I saw was the headstock, board and neck all have awesome flame figuring as good as I have seen on the $2400 Jackson PC-1. Out of the box it played okay, but had an annoying rattle on the low E that I suspect was caused by a poorly cut nut. So within 24 hours of getting the guitar I had installed a Tusq nut, Schaller locking tuners and a Wilkinson vitage style bridge with brass saddles. Now it stays in tune like a champ and not only is the annoying rattle a thing of the past the guitar sounds awesome and much more lively. In the near future I will swap the pickups for some BKP's and add a 4 way mod switch and all new electronics. Here are some before and after pics.

Now all you need to do is plop in some EMG's and scallop the fretboard, maybe do a swirl (Pink with neon green and a splash of bright red). Then you will be the envy of the town with your freakish abomination of a guitar

awesome, and you'll come out cheaper and better than a std. series american tele for sure.

I'd like to see it with a pearl pickguard as I think that can really spice up a tele

that neck is awesome. Reminds me that once I saw a MIM tele with a beautiful birdseye neck. I should have bought it...

Sweeeeet. I'm also a huge tele fan.
FYI - all MIM guitar necks are manufactured in the Corona, CA plant and trucked down to Ensinada for assembly. These are the exact same necks as on the USA models but most people don't know they are all cut on the same CNC machines. MIM's are a tremendous value and usually great players.

Thanks for the info. I actually just got the Tele and a MIM Strat a month or so ago and love both. The Strat is complete with tuners, nut and all of the electronics swapped out along with a set of Fralins and I doubt any USA Strat will sound better. Once the Tele gets it's new pups and electronics I'm sure I can say the same for it. MIM Fenders are awesome. Especially when you get them for $299 a piece
