New Trem system

I just heard about this new sort of trem system: the Tremologic. It has a pretty silly name IMO, but it looks really sweet.
http://www.playtremologic.com/
It lets you detune each string individually. Quite expensive though; US$700 without installation!
Just thought i'd share it with you guys.

Re: New Trem system

looks kinda...fiddly. and in that video the guy didn't really demonstrate anything you can't really do on an edge.

no doubt a "vai" out there will find some use for it.

Re: New Trem system

The video of the guy playing the s series on the website is pretty cool. Able to individually change the pitch of the strings with the "whammy fingers." So you could play some interesting chords and flat one string but simultaneously sharp another. Probably the most revolutionary tremolo since the transtrem.

Re: New Trem system

At least it looks better than that Stepmax crap that was on here a while ago.

Re: New Trem system

Looks crap, sucks that you lose the ability to de-tune all string at once though

Re: New Trem system

Interesting is, that one can "bend" one string up and the other down, simultaneously. That can't be performed with a regular trem.
Straight quote: "...For example, you can bring one string up and one down at the same time..."

Re: New Trem system

It's sort of like the fine tuners on a floyd, how they push that column down to raise the pitch. These seem to work the same way, but you can push it up or down. Not worth $700 though.

Re: New Trem system

It looks cool. And the $700 is probably for them to route your guitar and install it, plus the price of the trem. I bet it wouldn't cost that much more than a normal trem if it came standard on a production guitar. Kind of a neat idea though.

Re: New Trem system

Eh, I'm not impressed, ESPECIALLY at that price! I think they have quite a bit of refinement to do on it, before it even comes close to catching on. It actually looked kinda cheap and flimsy to me, there's no bar to do full-string dives. In fact, it actually looks like it makes standard dives damned difficult, if at all. All in all, just not worth it, which reminds me of three words: Washburn Wonder Bar, as in "I wonder what ever happened to the Washburn Wonder Bar"
