NGD! Finished KL-style Explorer

It's all done folks! She's a beaut. Sounds fantastic. These GFS pickups are everything they're cracked up to be! And with the coil tap on both pickups, it's really quite versatile. here are the pics (sorry about darkness); the first pic is the actual color it is in real life...

More pics to come, gotta go have dinner. =]

Which GFS did you go for? How do they compare to some other pickups you're familiar with?

Power Rails. I would say they're about 98% as good as some of my favorite dimarzios, at half the price. Pinch harmonics sound great, and both pickups get great clean tone. They sound fantastic coil-tapped as well. I would say they are WELL worth the price.

Re: NGD! Finished KL-style Explorer

Thanks dude. After the initial test period to let the NGD excitement wear off I can say it sounds as good as it looks =].

Re: NGD! Finished KL-style Explorer

Thanks. I got it setup again today now that the neck has gotten used to the string tension, and everything's hunky-dory. And it's already received its first tiny little finish chip, as we all know guitars like this don't stay mint for long if ya play em .

Re: NGD! Finished KL-style Explorer

Question for you guys...can anyone suggest a nicely padded guitar strap? This is definitely lighter than a typical explorer but its still a little heavier than I'm used to so I'd like to find a strap with a good amount of padding.

Levy's Leathers are the best. I love my two, but I want a third.

Re: NGD! Finished KL-style Explorer

Will take a look at em, thanks! I have a levy's gig bag for my Warmoth strat and it's top notch, they seem to have good quality stuff across the board.
