NGD....Gibson V90

I've been stalking this one since February. This is a Gibson V90, made in 89', and I think 90' as well. I traded my Zion Powerglide and a little cash for it. Really nice playing and sounding axe, and a really cool addition to the collection. Between this and the Ibby Ballback I got in today, it's been a really stellar double NGD.

Excuse the crappy indoor pics amid the cables strewn everywhere. I'll take some nice outdoor shots tomorrow.

I believe thats a V-90 Double
I had a V90, they only had a bridge humbucker. It's a weird pickup, looks like a circuit board on the back.
If I remember right they were made from 88-90, first the single pickup version then the one you have.
There is an Explorer and SG too.
Awesome guitars.

Awesome! That's what Gibson's Shred V should have been- a reissue of that!

Yeah Cid, I've seen the Explore and SG versions when I was researching this one. The bridge pup does indeed have a distinctive sound. The volume pot is a spring loaded deal. You push it down and it pops back up...I think it's a splitcoil.

That's what I was thinking too. This one also has a similar vibe as the Gothic V's too.

That's awesome. Does is really stay in tune? I've heard Gibson's with trems bad for tuning like a Fender...lol.

Off topic, but is that a Jem DY beside a Road Flare RG on the rack?

I didn't get the bar with it, so I haven't been able to subject it to any whammy abuse as of yet, but having had a couple of the Gibby MIII's I'd imagine it'll hold tune well. I did alot of over the top whammy stuff with those, and they held tune really well.

Yup, that's a 91' 550DY. Shameless plug.............I'm looking to move it too, it's in the classifieds.

Yeah, I know. The thing is I never really bonded with that one for whatever reason. I love Zions though............................

I got these two at the same time a couple of months ago. Getting the two Radicasters went a long way towards mitigating any seller's remorse I might of had regarding the Powerglide.
