Oh Boy you guys ready for this LOL

Ok I just put the last touches on the mystic dream GSZ120.. Now comes the funny part. Im not 100% sure I like a 22 fret guitar LMAO..

It feels entirely different then what im used to which is the Carvin 24 fret.. Now im by no means disappointed in its playability or sound that I do like, but its just hard to get used to the difference in what 2 frets can make.

Now what do I do, I cant really sell it I will lose my behind I got to much invested with pickups, strap, paint, knobs, etc.

Do I just keep it and not play it as much or ????

haha what a idiot I am LOL

Well, the neck pup will sound much sweeter on a 22fret guitar. Treat it as a blues rock axe.. or somehting different... maybe a "feel" guitar, where you will limit yourself to tasteful notes and bending/vibrato, no shredding!

i say give it time and get used to it. think about players that have a variety of axes. strats, pauls, jems, acoustic, classical, etc. if you like how it sounds, then just play away.

I thought about trying a GSZ a while back, thought it looked cool for downtuning and stuff. I was just slightly worried about poor construction and build quality. But for the price of them, they look great!

I'm not sure if the neck really sounds better or not in a 22 fret guitar vs a 24 fret guitar... but a 22 fret guitar does kind of feel like it is missing something. You have to learn to work around the missing 2 frets - it can be done and I have survived on 22 frets for years.

Re: Oh Boy you guys ready for this LOL

just do all the nomal things you did when you played the 24 fret guitar on the 22 & add that class of playing style, i'm sure you will like it if you spent some time with it & find those sounds your use to in there, maybe a new dimention to your sound? JS's guitar has 22 fret's & Vai love's his Green Meanni also with less frets than the 24,
So no excuse's & really get into the guitars sound before you pass judgment on it- at least give it a try! -you never know.

Re: Oh Boy you guys ready for this LOL

I think im going to offer it up for sale.. I am going to move to a 7 string..

question is how much is fair to both. LOL

I got $200 on the guitar, $115 on pickups, $50-60 on all upgraded electronics and knobs, $15 on strap and dye (Comes with custom purple dimarzio clip lock) And about $70 on paint.

so I dont know.
