What do you guys think of it just as a last resort guitar? I had some work done to it and it plays great! not like a wolfie or special but good. feedback please!

I like them, they're pretty cool. Anything by OLP is a great bargain.

I've got one. Hidden gem. Plays really well. Sounds good even with the stock pups.

Re: OLP MM1

Somewhere in here there's a whole other thread on these and the JPs. For some reason the Jemsite search engine is tellinng me it can't find any threads containing "OLP" (even this one...). But, here a shot of mine a link to some of the upgrade pics we did, it has an original Floyd, upgraded pups, etc. If you can find the other link, I have the whole story in it (I'm too lazy to type it again...):

For the little outlay those things are I say It's a definate worth while project. I bet the one posted above plays/ sounds great now that it's had a little TLC.

It's absolutely wonderful. Great feel to the neck, great sounding pickups, and I've always been big into OFRs, so that's another plus. Basically not that much invested for a sweet really nice guitar. Very happy with it.

Re: OLP MM1

I'm with gpenguins, these things are brilliant. I had one last year before I (stupidly) sold it, and I wish I had it back. Mine was a Trans Black colour and it was solid as a rock. For a cheap guitar to play regularly and thrash around a little, they are amazing. I am yet to find a better little guitar for the little money. I thought the stock pickups were brilliant too, but with a pup change it might be even better. They are defenitely worth modding. As had been said, they are a bit of a hidden gem for the money. They are very liked on these boards by alot of people.

Re: OLP MM1

Will an OFR fit w/o any body mods? Last time I played one of these, I LOVED the thing. Sick low action, amazing playability.

Re: OLP MM1

Here's the other thread on these (I still don't get anything when I search "olp"):

http://www.jemsite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=47101

To put in an OFR, you likely have action issues, so you could either shim the neck or do the little mod in those refernced pics. To poach from my comment in the above thead:

What we (okay, fellow Jemsiter Frank Falbo did all of this for me) did do a slight recess underneath the trem to keep it from digging into the body and I have the before and after shots of the action and the neck pocket fix. I think the neck pickup is an Air Norton, and the bridge pickup is a hybrid that Frank made from 2 different Dimarzios, I forget from what, though. I think it was a Super D and something else, but I could be wrong about that. He changed the poles so they'd match the original screw/slug pattern, too. That pickup rips!
