The obvious choice would be the PGM90HAM. *Hands down the top-of=the=line PGM in both materials and overall quality. *

PGM90HAM or PGM10th
But the 10th is not yet released and only 50 will be availabe in Japan.....so.......I think there will be only a few of them in the US

I like my PGM90HAM, I like the postion of the PGM's pickup switcher and volume. I always hit the volume and the pickup switcher if I switched the Neck position on my RG, but I don't have that problem on my PGM!

i mean of normal, affordable ones

like there is the jem10 and jemdna jem 90
but thejem7vwh is the best and most expesive of the normal, everyday affordable ones

which gilbert is like that, like if the jemdna is best, then jem 90 second, and jem10 third, then the next would be the jem7vwh which starts the affordable ones you find in stores

so which is the best normal, non aniversary, PGM?

thanks

The violin shaped PGM 700 is the most expensive non-anniversary model. But that's not really a normal model . The PGM 300 which is still available outside the US is the next one, priced slightly lower than the 700.
btw, this thread should started in the 'other 6-strings...' forum

hey
p4t4h

Do you know where can I find the pgm700?

The PGM300 is still in production in Japan
But I've heard that, although the PGM500 and 800 is discontinued, it can still be found in Japan and Europe, new or used.

i have the pgm30, the white one with black f holes. *it's my main guitar and favorite guitar. *the jems can't stand up to it, as far as playability or tone! *i finally found, after all these years, the guitar for ME. *i also have the blue with pink f holes. *you have to check out the pgm 30. *you can go to my site to see pics. *www.steverotter.com

Personally I thought the PGM30 were crap.

The neck is quite big and the quality on the one I had was poor.

I ended up trading mine in for an Eggle LA

yeah dude, to each his own. *i'm starting to like jems less and less. *just like i totally hate marshall amps! *total garbage! *i wouldn't play one if you gave it to me. *for them to sound good they have to be totally hot-rodded and modded out. *

Newsflash guys, the I have it on really good authority that the PGM10 will not be imported in the US. Unfortunately, Paul Gilbert is no longer seen as marketable here. And it's just not Ibanez, either. It takes Shrapnel an extra six months to a year to release any of his CDs (still waiting for the new live Racer X), and that is with the artwork already done for them.

Cheers,
Butch

Butch, are they exporting it *anywhere*? I thought it was a Japan only release, and of course you have to be drawn in the lottery to even buy one.

I'm surprised that PG still has a sig guitar with Ibanez even though it's the 'budget' PGM30

I personally think it'll get dropped in the next two years.

Don't get me wrong a high end sig (not limited editions) would be cool but the rock guitar scene isn't what it used to be.

Ibanez prefer to market the current vouge K7 etc. Although they still do the George Benson and Pat Methane (I know it's spelt wrong) models.

I don't see Paul Gilbert changing brands though he'll just become an endorser.

Why don't we all save up some cash then have Jemfest in Japan where we can all buy these nice guitars that no-one else on the planet can get. And go see PG, Richie Kotzen play since they tour constantly there.

hey Pablo: don't be surprised: PG is really famous in japan and southeast asia. I'm pretty sure the market there is big enough. Too bad the rest of the world doesn't know him!
I say to my friends: my fav player is PG...WHO? you know..Mr.Big....WHO??....you know...To be With You...

yeah, i know what you mean. *paul is the man. *i'm the same way when someone asks. *paul g? *mr. big....who? *then TO BE WITH YOU. *then they get it. *but then i have to of course always say....MR BIG didn't even come close to showcasing his talents. *i know why he did it but these non musical people have no clue...RACER X!!! *

he is huge in asia. *it's unfortunate. *i fought with my bassist the other day. *i want to do that stuff. *he says that stuff isn't selling. *he is right but no damn way will i play N'SUK OR BACK DOOR BOYZ! *NO WAY! *there are many people still interested in metal and old school. *i hope it comes back! *

on another note, what is the pgm model like the 30 that has pink f-holes with purple body? *i just bought one from a friend that got it in japan. *it's mint! *best guitar i ever played! *i'm getting out of jems. *
