Re: Peavey prdator plus
I was on the original design engineering team for that guitar. The very early ones were actually made in USA using decent wood and for all intents were fine guitars. Progressively more and more elements arrived at the guitar factory in boxes labeled 'LPS Korea'; until the entire body, painted, wired and ready for neck strings were pulled out of the box. (*we were told to HIDE all the boxes in the warehouse when visitors were coming to tour the plant)
Quality was a f-ing joke at that point.....switches would broken (internally) before unboxing, pots would grind, PUs would be hot or cold or the magnet would fall off the back....
I had a 'conversation' regarding the balls it took to keep "HANDCRAFTED IN THE USA" on the back of the headstock. I was told 51% of the work was in the neck. After explaining how that the manufacturing of ancillary items (tuners, pots, PUs) made the 51% of the work in the neck pure BS was told not to worry about it.
I believe the guitar is 100% made in China or Korea now.
Your question is if its good???? Good depends on what you are happy with....I have had POS guitars that I really liked; played well and sounded good. If you like it and are happy with it.....jump.
