Performance Flame - What neck did it come with?

Earlier today while looking through some old pictures of my guitar teacher's guitars. I noticed his Flame that he had (#9) and noticed that the neck that he had on it was not the original neck. The one he had on it was the same as the one in the gallery here but next to it was another neck that obviously came with it because it was painted, fretboard and all, just like the flame body. Were several necks issued it. I've also heard that 13 were issued and 16 were issued. How many were really issued?

The "performance" ones sold in the USA had the neck as seen in the Guitar Gallery. Hockey stick shape. Unfortunately Joe D was unscrupulous and milled these out left and right, using various necks. Whatever was lying around, I was told by a former "endorser" of his. So i'd tend to ignore any "production totals" you might have seen... glen

Talking about the performance flame guitars, i've seen one which looks like the original performance flame guitar. But, there are some major differences, like the use of colors and the length of the body itself. Not only that, the head is also different than the one i've seen in the guitar gallery. Is the following guitar just a brandless customly built one (for the artist on the pic) or a modified version of the original Performance Flame Guitar ?

Hey Christopher,

Are you a fan of Nicholas, Chris ? His guitar jammin' isn't that good, but his collection of guitars ain't bad though. But well..you can expect that with the amount of $$ he has..
