Pics of the elusive necktrough Yamaha Pacifica 1412!!
Ive spent years searching for this guitar until a couple of years ago I finally found 1 of the 3 that were imported to Argentina in 1993.
I searched the net countless times searching for pics of this guitar, and most of the times the only thing I could find were WTB adds. In the last 5 years there were a couple of them for sale with very poor pics (BTW all of them sold for around 1400USD-1500euros (wich was too much for me when you add the shipping and 50% import tax).
A couple of month ago, I found another one and, as you can imagine, I bought it.
So, as far as I know, this are the only decent pics of this guitar on the net.
Hope you like them, this are indeed rare and amazing beasts:

(the blue one is a custom made guitar, I also bought recently)

Well, not only are they rare, but they are also incredible instruments. You missed an incredible opportuniy. At 600 dollars, or even at the 1400 dollars usual price, they are a steal.
We tried the red one against a PRS Custom 24 and an American Master with a QM top, and it was just unfair. The 1412 felt better than both of them. Soundwise, they were quite different, with some setups the PRS came on top, and with other setups, the 1412 came on top.
But as far as looks and fell goes, the PRS and the american master had nothing to do against it.
The construction of this guitar is unbelievable (5 pice neck, 5 pice laminated body), carved top, ebony freatboard with great
abalone inlays
, Di Marzio pups, I could go on forever.

Nope Mariano, I dont know the colour.
But I hope its the sunburst one or the trans black one, because if it is, I wont let it escape!
I will find it and buy it someday!

Re: Pics of the elusive necktrough Yamaha Pacifica 1412!!
wow, thats really weird, i kno someone who is selling that exact guitar (but with just a tiny bit of belt rash on the back) for £500. its an awesome guitar but i would rather get an rg1570!
i will try and post pics asap!
its awesome condition, like 9.5/10! its been kept in its case pretty much all its life, with little/no fret ware. he bought it ages ago as a collectors item for sale in the future but theres been little interest so hes selling it for just £500. he was expecting a lot more.

Buying an RG1570 instead of this guitar is a crime against humanity. If I were near you Ill give you 2 Ibanez 1570 for that guitar.
The only advice I can give is..... BUY IT.
As you can see I like
Ibanez guitars
, among the ones I had I recall:
2 UVMC
Jem10
Jem77PMC
Jem7BSB
Jem777DY
2 UV777PBK
JS1000BP
RBM1BK
RBM1LB
RGT3120DB
2 RG3120TW
2 RG520QS
RG560BK
RG550DXPN
RG770DX
S5407
S470
Starfield SJ Cabriolet
And Im sure there were other I dont recall righ now or that I owned for a brief period of time. The only Ibanez guitar that I would take over the Pacifica 1412 is the Jem10th.
Of course Ill trade you a Pacifica 1412 for a PMC, GMC, DNA or UVMC. Im not stupid and those guitars are highly collectable and expensive. But as my main player, Id take the 1412 above all the others.
Just to give a little scope, this guitars were quite more expensive than jems when they were released. As a matter of fact around 1993/1994they retailed for 2400USD in Argentina (at that same time, you could buy a Jem for about 2100 or less).
So, again, If I were you, I would pick up that guitar NOW!

Re: Pics of the elusive necktrough Yamaha Pacifica 1412!!
Interesting guitar, but what apart from the construction makes it so special?
How about the trem? How does it stack up to a Lo Pro? It looks a bit like an Edge, if it's an original Floyd I wouldn't rate it as high as a LoPro.
The guitar next ot it has a black center-section on its neck, what kind of wood is that, or is it just the picture?

Re: Pics of the elusive necktrough Yamaha Pacifica 1412!!
Those Yamahas are orgasmic. How heavy are the neck-thrus? They look designed to appeal to "Paulites", so I suspect they're weighty.
I prefer the 22 fretters with the Warmoth radius boards. It's a crime that they put the Yamaha trem on these guitars, though.
In any case, they ARE awesome axes that never got the respect they deserved.

Those are cool man.
If PRS knew what they were doing, they'd make guitars LIKE THAT.

Re: Pics of the elusive necktrough Yamaha Pacifica 1412!!
The neck of this guitars is very wide, yet they are extremely comfortable.
The pups are Di Marzio, and the tremolo desing is is pretty cool althought Im not too fond of it. Id take a Lo Pro over it, but this is the only slight "advantage" an RGT3020/3120/320 or an american master may have compared to this guitar. The 1412 is far superior as an instrument. It plays better, it has wider tonal variations, and has a lot more attention to detail.
Since they have what yamaha called "tone chambers" (menaning a "semihollow" construction) they are not heavy at all. They weight roughly as much as a jem.
