Depends what type you're after. Aria do a nice range of various styles. I've also played a couple of nice Blueridges.

Its for strumming at home. I've been all electric for years and want something acoustic that sounds good and has good playability. I was half considering the baby Taylor's. Any good or cheap rubbish ??

I think you've hit the nail on the head, a Taylor Big Baby would sort you out completely. You can pick them up for 300 these days and when I tried one it was amazing, the tone and playability were well beyond its price tag. The only reason I didn't get one was because it wasn't an electro, but if you just want something to strum on then its perfect.

Thanks Jamie. I'm off to PMT in Birmingham tomorrow - I'll bet I end up with something much more expensive. GAS has been building for a few months

Haha, well have fun trying some out then! Thats pretty much what happened to me, was going to get one around that price range, then tried a Breedlove Atlas and that was it...

It's a little joke Jim's doing at our good friend Fettouhi's expense.

Re: Please recomend a good cheap(ish) acoustic?
Well my GAS was controllable and after trying out about a dozen acoustics I ended up with a Yamaha APX500 - nice sound, comfortable to play and pretty cheap.
I think the major contributing factor to controlling my GAS was the fact that my wife was with me

Well that was a good choice. I tried some Yamaha's when I was looking and they are damn good guitars. Good choice.

Garrison acoustics are mighty fine (and relatively inexpensive for what they are)
