Wow, resurrecting a 7 year old thread to say your Korean one is as good as an American made one.

The sweat shop situation is the whole reason for the low price, you cant leave that out of the discussion.

Yeah, but the Korean factories aren't sweat shops. As far as I know.

Definately the Japanese ones aren't either.

Chinese? Probably.

Indonesia, it's possible.

Re: PRS comes clean.

Korea, and China may not be sweat shops in the literal sense, but those people definately arent being paid a decent wage or treated to things like paid sick time or any other benefits, The quality of their work shows it.

In Korea I don't think it's this way. Of course I could be wrong.

Re: PRS comes clean.

I'd be interested in seeing what they pay the Koreans, I bet it's well under $5/hr. Even if that is a lot of money over there it's still terrible.

I would agree with Kotornut on this one (as in, I disagree with the part about their bad pay showing in their work). I've had a few korean guitars and they were all VERY well made (Agile, etc).

That's a pointless debate to get in to. I do think it's funny though that you can find threads here saying that Korean Ibanez's are garbage compared to Japanese ones, but Squier, Epiphone, Korean PRS, and so on are as good as anything from the more expensive line.

Re: PRS comes clean.

Yeah I wasnt aiming to get into a debate, just stating my experience with several brands of Korean guitars. Im sure some of them are extra crappy and some are incredible, and everything in between. And I dont know who's saying that other part, but thats just dumb lol. I've tried a korean PRS or two (the SE Custom, etc) and theyre pretty nice for the money but are definitely blown away by the high end PRSs, as they should be for that kinda price difference.

You know what Elcid I could probably actually find out if they are getting paod decently or not over in Korea I was just eating dinner with soome Korean people last night.

I do know that the Japanese builders get paid decently. I actualy live near the ESP school for builders I'd love to take a few classes but my japanese isn't good enough.
