quick question

i have a quick opinion question. i am a bassplayer and i have been thinking about buying an electric guitar to mess around on just to get a feel for the instrument to help me write music. here is the question.

for $159.99 would you buy the epiphone xplorer seen here:
http://www.********.com/Item/?itemno=19554

or the esp m50 for the same price seen here:

The Epiphone has probably a better quality, but i donīt like that kind of guitar. Iīd buy the ESP (between this two, of course). Why donīt you look for a good 2 hans Ibanez RG 550 or 560? Theyīre light years better than this two...

You would prbably be better off with a fixed bridge guitar, since the trems on the low priced models tend to be a royal pain..that said, i'd go for the epi...If you want a decent guitar it might be a good idea to look for something on the used market.
