Re: Ran RG...

about the guitar from the guy who ordered:

The body is basswood with a quilted maple top. Neck is maple with a body-matching quilted maple topped headstock and an ebony fingerboard with black binding.

On hardware I went with Schaller Locking Floyd and Schaller M6 tuning machines. Frets are Dunlop 6105. As mentioned DiMarzio Evolutions are used as PUs, the neck PU is reverse mounted. PU config looks like this:
1 = Neck Hum
2 = Neck Hum splitted
3 = Neck Hum splitted + Bridge Hum splitted
4 = Bridge Hum parallel connected
5 = Bridge Hum

Neck profile is another thing I totally messed up. Halfway through the production I realized that I specified nothing but Width: 1 5/8" ... don't ask me why, I know that wasn't the brightest move. Anyway, I mailed Dariusz for the neck dimensions and this is what he answered:

- width at nut - 1 5/8"
- thickness at 1st/12th fret - 19mm/21mm
- 15" radius
- C-shaped

I figured this would be totally fine, so, yeah, that are the neck dimensions - though anything but specified.

Re: Ran RG...

Look pretty nice- they can do everything you want. Are you from Poland 90.... ?? I know that messed things up in the past. Don't get me wrong- they make great instruments but if you're a recongnizable musician or foreigner At certain time they were not good at doing guitars for polish people. But know this company is starting to getting more "every client" oriented. And it's gettin' better n' better. But if I were you I'd give a try for a great polish brand- Mayones. Check it- www.mayones.pl

Re: Ran RG...

I'd like it more if it had a reverse LGM style headstock.

No you wouldn't, the side dots are still there. I have the no inlays option on my Carvin BK4 bass and I've never missed them. I don't have a guitar with a blank board but that's only because I haven't bought a guitar where that's an option yet.

Well, I had an SZ for a few weeks and I was confused by that. Though I suspect that the problem with that guitar was that the 12th fret inlay spanned from the 11th to the 13th fret. No inlays are probably better than misleading inlays.
