That's not too weird; if it doesn't do it for you who cares how they are for everyone else? You're the one who has to play it.

Have you tried looking for a 7621 or 7421? You could get your 7 string and fixed bridge and be done. The RG-321's I've played were excellent guitars for the money as well, though I'd likely sand and oil the neck if I were to buy one for myself. You could get one of those with cash left over for a set of pickups.

I dont like the carvins even though they are high quality instruments

Jackson no thanks as I got screwed by them as I asked for a custom jackson a while back and now they make it the RR24 they were charging me 6,000 for it while you can buy it now for just over 1000 damn con artists

I would love to get a fixed bridge 7 but would tunings be awkward with it?

I tried sevenstring.org and no luck most of the ones for sale are trem bridges

Re: Recommend a 6 string

if you had your eyes on a schecter hellraiser, any c1 type guitar would probably do you right, though you might not end up with something you like cosmetically.

for other alternatives, have you checked out the dean vendetta guitars? the vendetta 4.0 is (for all intents and purposes) more-or-less equivalent to a c1, and will run you up just around the same amount of money. last i checked they were about 499 from ScAMcASH.com.

another option to check out would be the yamaha rgx520fz. again, very similar in terms of specs, and yamaha has always built a quality product; very good bang for the buck. the rgx should be about 399, a bit cheaper but a VERY decent guitar. there's also the rgxA2 which is a bit of a space cadet (the body is some kinda kooky wood sandwich) but actually sounds pretty cool.

Re: Recommend a 6 string

I am contemplating on whether to save up and get a PGM although I have to wait for some to sell, its tough because the 90th and 10th are anniversary models

second choice is the Ibanez RGT42, lovely guitars but do they some with a hard case or do I have to buy seperately

third is to buy the hellraiser, but thats a long shot

Final question, is it better to buy online or in person in a shop?

Re: Recommend a 6 string

Or just screw the 6 string guitars and go buy a fixed 7 string

That would be great as I am hooked on the 7 strings after getting the RG1527 last year

If only I won the lotto lol

this is kinda off topic as its not 6 string guitars anymore

but I am gas'n for all those guitars

Re: Recommend a 6 string

Look for a used 7621 or 7421, definitely. If you're into 7's just do that.

Yes, 7421 is a good axe! I picked one up from the bay, £150. I'm also thinking of selling it because it isn't really getting used nowadays.

Re: Recommend a 6 string

I was thinking I could pick a cheap 7 later on in the year as it seems more likely I have a good chance of getting one

But I think I am gonna wait out for the opportunity for a PGM 10th or 90th as if I went back home it would be much harder to find one as I know that some people do not ship internationally and I must consider the usual tax duties, custom duties and excise duties which end up costing me way more

Basically I came to the conclusion that if I were to get any of the guitars you guys mentioned I could get at home for the same price and less hassle probably with delivery and all the shananigans, you know the bull**** lol!!

Also I think I'll be sticking to Ibanez for most of my guitar buying as a result of the bad experience with the Hellraiser

Last comment is that European online shops are far more efficient than US ones, communication is really bad and most them do not have a clue at all.

Hopefully the chance arises for a PGM to pop up wayhey!!

An RGA121 is right in your price range, you see 'em used all day for right around what you're looking to spend.
