Re: recommend an esp

In my 2cents opinion, It would be wise to go for Edwards instead of LTD. The quality of Edwards is between ESP and LTD. Check the following website

Re: recommend an esp

The Edwards models are great if you can get them. They actually make an Edwards version of the Alexi Laiho Sawtooth V now too. If you're limited to just the ESP and LTD models, the ESP MII is one awesome guitar and the M-1000 is good as well. If you don't need an Original Floyd, the M-400 ain't bad either. A real ESP MII would be better though.

Re: recommend an esp

My recommendation for ESP would be not get an ESP but that's just me.
However, it seems that you're looking for Wild Child's axe itself. If you're wanting to avoid Laiho's guitar, i highly recommend the m-1000 as well since it happens to be a great -- if not the best -- guitar ESP has to offer.

One of the guys in my irc channel recently got a MH400 and absolutely loves it. The price is right too and it seems to meet your specs

Re: recommend an esp

Fyi, Most of LTD guitars are made in Korea and Indonesia. The higher ends like MH-400 and etc are Korean while the lower end models like M-50,M-100 all have agathis bodies and made in Indonesia. Edwards guitars are mostly from Japan while the ESP are American made. Dont know whether they make ESP in other countries besides U.S.

Re: recommend an esp

ESP hasn't been Made in America in years(they closed the US custom shop). Everything branded ESP is actually made in Japan with the exception of some older US made ones floating on that auction site.

Re: recommend an esp

thinking about the m200

is it possible to put an original floyd in there?

How difficult is it to put in active EMGs?

the m400 is perfect but I cant find it anywhere to buy

and the m1000

thats perfect except for the price, if I was going to pay that I would want an ebony fretboard

Re: recommend an esp

Just keep looking for a m400. You may have to travel more and look harder, or have someone custom order you one but you should be able to find one.

Re: recommend an esp

I was looking at the esp range and I saw that only one of their esp strat style ones have an ebony fingerboard

anyways on the m400 is the bridge swappable with an original floyd

or would someone recommend a guitar that has a set neck, ebony board, 24 frets, original floyd, emg actives

because every guitar I looka t doesnt suit my needs

actually a PGM 500 or 800 would be nice

Re: recommend an esp

I don't really like the look of the abalone binding on the neck and headstock of the M-1000.

if you can afford it, go for the M-II. I really like the Urban Camo version too.

I own a DV8-R and it's a really great guitar but it doesn't have a floating bridge so I don't think you'd be interested in one of them. You could always get a Kirk Hammett signature like a 602 as well.
