Re: rg 20th vs gibson explorer

Well, you couldn't get two guitars that are so different! That's an odd choice to have to make, and I guess it really depends on what you want out of a guitar.

Floyd-equipped super-strat with bolt neck vs. a fixed neck non-whammy weirdo shape?

I have loads of pics of my 20th if you want them, btw.

Re: rg 20th vs gibson explorer

Chalk and cheese

I own both

Explorer is a beast Great for different tunings. Looks evil, people will be scared Sounds like a monster!!! THE guitar to kick some ass with

RG20th, fantastic player, once you pick it up you just don't want to put it down. Road Flare red is THE colour to have. You just can't stop looking at it!! Best trem ever. Truly awesome.

Get both

Re: rg 20th vs gibson explorer

I haven't played a Les Paul in years, but the neck is certainly more like one than the RG!!! I find it very comfortable though.

As Dee said, you couldn't get more different guitars

Two completely different guitars.
You should decide by style, not by guitar itself.

Re: rg 20th vs gibson explorer

20th's are for Ibanez fanboys only. You have to know what is special about it to truly appreciate it's superiority. Someone "off the street" just picking up an Ibby for the heck of it would be much happier with a modern Prestige model.

Only one thing can be said about the Explorer:

Good point Dino. Same goes for the new 770's

If you 3 super strats, I'd go for the Explorer because it is different.
