RG-570 Green Metalic Flake - What year(s) and how many?

I have seen two e-bay adds for a 570 green metalic flake finish lately and the sellers described them as rare (then again I have seen adds for 7vwh's that said rare).
I bought one (new) last year at a store that had it for several years.
What years were they produced and how many. I mean did they make 1,000 or were they as common as the sour apple finish?

Whats the serial number? I've seen green 550s but never seen green 570s.

Serial #F604026 ('96 right?). It's the large, glitter type metalic flake.

RG-570 Green Metalic Flake

For what it's worth, i just saw TWO of these today, at a store called Metro Sound & Music in Toronto. One green metalflake sparkle and one blue metalflake sparkle. I think they were both 570s (pardon my unfamiliarity with the entire RG line)... hum-single-hum with an Edge trem.

The odd thing is that the necks had the bubinga stripe on them. I didn't pull them down to look at the serials, but wasn't the bubinga strip only added after '99 or 2000?

bubinga strips were starting to be common place on new RG's(550's and 570's) around '97, and maybe even earlier. *i've seen quite a few of those blue and green metal flake sparkle finished RG570's back in '97 and '98 so they might have just been a standard finish choice. *also, all the ones i played had bubinga strips, and if i remember correctly they had the same list price as other RG570's.

You know, people on Ebay describe everything as rare. Some jackass was selling an SCA220 for what you can buy it in the store for, because it was "rare".
Don't get me wrong, its a great guitar, especially for the price (when its actually new), but it was a USED Korean guitar.

I believe they were made in 97 and 98. Bubinga strips started showing up in 97.
I don't know if they had the same list price.
There was also a silver holoflake Talman.

You may be referring to the Sour Apple Sparkle finish which is apparently no longer made.
I saw two at local GCs on clearance. Both looked to have been around the store for a while judging from the few dings and $410 tag.
I had to buy one to replace my '89 that I sold a few years ago. Its a 2000 but I don't know the exact years they were made with that finish.
Its a std 570, just with that funky paint.

no, we're talking about the "metal-flake" sparkle finishes. ibanez made blue, green and silver ones. maybe even other colors too. the only ones i've seen were RG570's in blue or green, and the only silver RG i saw was a RG517(?). other models may have had those metal flake finishes but i haven't seen any.

The RG 517 was the only one that was silver, and that was the only color available for it. Other than that, I don't think there's any real difference between a 517 and a 570.
